TAKESURE ZAMAR NCUBE
Takesure started playing instruments when he was a teenager, not sure of the year exactly, but he recalls the first instrument he started off with was keyboard the formal way. He says Enock Lazalo, a man who used to play for Brian Sibalo some years ago, was the first person who taught him how to play the keyboard. He would rehearse a lot and then he started to play at church. Thereafter he went to Zimbabwe College of Music to pursue music and obtained a Diploma in Music. By then he was mature enough to hear the call of God upon his life and was very sure that God was pushing him to pursue music professionally. He didn’t know that it was going to turn out this big. By then his pastor would ask if he was really sure if he was supposed to pursue music and not pastoring, he truly belived that Takesure ought to be a pastor that was his area. Takesure on the other hand strongly felt otherwise. At that time he was based in Gwanda working for the Sports and Recreation Commission as a Sports Coordinator of Matabeleland South. He resigned from work because going to school demanded that he be there fulltime.
His favorite instrument is the piano but he also plays the Guitar, saxophone a bit of dums the mbira and marimba.
I was featured as Guest Artist on Joyous Celebration 19, 20 and 21. That is when I introduced Shona songs to Joyous Celebration like “KUREGERERA IN ADVANCE”. It is these songs and ‘UMOYA WAMI UYAKUDINGA” amongst others, that put me on a high peak.
I have seen the grace of God and being elevated to levels I have never imagined. From staying in the streets and sleeping in the streets to staying in Five Star Hotels and being treated as royalty.
It is in this year 2017 that I have joined BOLD MUSIC and ENTERTAINMENT. The album is out and released in October and is enjoying great reception.
“From Dusty streets to Glory”
Was born and raised in Duban and has lived in Ntuzuma and recently moved to Inanda. His childhood was very church based with his dad being a Pastor. Khulekani has a twin and two other siblings so they made his childhood very easy. He appreciates spending quality time with his family and friends be it at social events especially since Khulekani loves live concerts or just chilling at home. Growing up as a preacher’s kid (P.K) its not surprising that Khulekani values his relationship with God and it is this relationship that comes far above many others things in his life. The relatinships he has with family and friends comes a close second. Khulekani’s show is called Manifest and is on Mon-Fri at 5am-6am. It is all about speaking to the gifting and talents that you have inside you bearing in mind that God has hidden something in all of us and causing that gift to come to Manifest as well as coming to your true self. The show is based on the scripture Romans 8:19.
His radio career started in 2015 a contributor for the ‘Fresh Start.’ Growing in that space and being appointed the new host of Manifest is a big deal for Khulekani. He fell in love with Gagasi FM when he was introduced by a friend and he loved the fresh new style Gagasi FM had to offer. He was working in landscaping at the time and his highlight has being able to start his own company in July 2017 and being able to see the success of owning such a business.. Khulekani would love to see himself hosting more of primetime shows and sticking to his niche. He truly admires the idea of endless possibility within the media industry and feels that there is so much space to grow.
MORE ON KHULEKANI:
If Khulekani could have super powers, he would choose teleportation because one of his dreams is to travel the world and see as much of the world as he can. What he admires about radio is his ability to have a positive impact on people’s lives and changing a life in a positive way. When it comes to brands that he would like to associated with, Khulekani names brands such as Carducci and Fabiani because they represent his sense of style. since he loves clothes and dressing up. He believes he would be a great ambassador for them.
